Click and Sign Up to Support BBR

Hey BBR listener/visitor.

I recently reconfigured our pages to include the banner ads at the top. Did you notice? :-) They are all services which we (at least, I, Greg) recommend. If you accept our recommendation, and click through the banner and sign up for the service or shop at the store or whatever... you will be supporting BBR. Most of it is small stuff, but some are bigger chunks. So, you get a great service (or perhaps do something you already do, like shop at Amazon?) and BBR gets paid. We fund the show out of our own pockets but this is a way you guys could easily help out!

If you are so inclined, click on a banner of interest and sign up for what they are offering. We'd be very appreciative.

Bills football is just around the corner! Go Bills!!!

BBR on Facebook

Hey folks. Quick note here to remind you that there is a BBR group on Facebook, and every once in a while (recently, at least) I have been trying to post pertinent links and info there. There's a discussion board, and some other fun stuff there. So I just wanted to encourage your participation there if you are Facebook-inclined. :-)

Here's the link:

Share Your Thoughts on the Bills Off-Season Moves

You only have a few days left. We've gotten some emails, and a comment here on Dave's post, but NO CALLS??? to the BBR Hotline? Craziness.

(716) 989-4180

We would love to hear from you, and respond on the show. Get your calls in, and you're likely to make the show this time. :-) (Also, I'd like to see who reads this BBR News page... I know Dave does not....) :-)

We're just a little over a week away from Draft Day. Give us your thoughts on that as well, who the Bills might select, whom they might trade, etc. Should be an exciting couple weeks!

BBR is a show by Bills fans, for Bills fans. So let your voice be heard!

Go Bills!

A New Member of the Campbell Family

Emma Caroline is here
This is sort of BBR News by default (as I, Greg, am one of the voices of the BBR.) On March 13th, the Campbell family grew by one with the addition of another baby girl, Emma Caroline! She's beautiful, and healthy, and so is Mom - and we are delighted! We like the name Emma, and Caroline is after her Grandma. She's sleeping in her mom's arms as I type this.

Just thought I'd make that little announcement here as it has certainly affected the frequency of updates to the BBR site over the past month or so! Starting to get back to a normal routine here in our house.

Check out the links page and click through to my blog and back around when she was born you can see a few more photos if you'd like.

Welcome Emma Caroline! (We'll be introducing her to Bills football this summer! Another Bills fan is born!)

Technical Difficulties

I just thought I would post a note here that we are experiencing hopefully TEMPORARY technical difficulties here. Apparently, the entire audio catalog of the Buffalo Bills Review has been deleted. This week's show is up, and ready to download, but I am in the process of re-uploading the previous three shows, and hopefully restoring the full directory ASAP. Yikes. I was told that this hosting company just instantly deletes suspect directories containing only audio files! What??!?

Sorry for the inconvenience. The archives should be fully restored shortly.

BBR Game Day LIVE - Experience!

We have a multi-media extravaganza for you, folks! Most of you could not be there for our first ever BBR Game Day LIVE... (Sunday Oct 21, 2007 @ The Ralph) so we're bringing it to you! Dave made a little video (annoyingly so during the recording of the show!!) and Jen took some photos which I put to the opening theme music of the BBR. I also uploaded some photos to our Facebook group, and uploaded the higher-quality versions of both videos below to our server. Click the appropriate links if you'd like to download the better versions.

Enjoy!

Various BBR-Newsworthy Items

There are a few random things from the previous show or two to tidy up, so I am posting them here, and hoping that folks are checking the BBR News page!

BBR Game Day LIVE!
We'll be setting up in the ECC parking lot off Southwestern Blvd this Sunday morning. I'm bringing a football, and it looks like I'll also be cooking my famous chicken wings right there in the parking lot as well! Our friend Chi will be making beef brisket (ya, I'm not to sure what that is either...) and we know Sven is bringing some German tailgating food... It's gonna be a fun morning!

Then we watch the Bills dominate the Ravens!

Then we come back to the parking lot, set up the sound system, and do the Bills Review with a live audience! If you're coming out to the game, don't miss this part! Should be fun (and kinda funny...) and I just have no idea what we'll get. We're shooting for a start time of just half an hour after the game ends. We'll see if we can do it.

If you missed the link above, more info (including a map) are at the original BBR Game Day Live post, here:
http://buffalobillsreview.com/news/2007/08/bbr-game-october-21st-vs-baltimore.html

Van Miller Impression
Our friend Adam from New Jersey sent in his Van Miller impression a while back, but we never got to air it, so here it is in its entirety, in all it's glory, for the ages... and for a Slim Jim. :-)

Van Miller Impression by Adam from NJ

Also, see a photo of the prize Adam won.

Kenny Mayne Interviews Gibran Hamden
You heard a snippet of the interview Kenny Mayne did with our now third string QB Gibran Hamden on our latest show (3.10) but there was more to it, and now you can hear the full 3 minutes or so!

Show Schedule

Due to the bye, the show will be coming out later this week. There was no game to review from yesterday, so we'll be recording on Wednesday this week, and the show will be posted by Thursday morning. You have a couple extra days to get your comments and questions in! E-mail us, or call the hotline at (716) 989-4180. We'll have more time for the BBR Mailbag, so sound off!

Looking forward to the BBR Game Day! Stay tuned to this page for more information later this week!

Major Technical Difficulties!

There is supposed to be a show up today (Show 3.09) but the audio was so bad I couldn't do it. We're working on re-doing the show, it should be up within the next day or two. Sorry for the inconvenience! Not sure what happened. We had problems up front, and then thought we got them straightened out, but when I listened to the recording, Dave & John had HUGE echo on them!

Until then, don't forget to stop by the articles page for our thoughts on the Bills and the Cowboys game!

We Have A Winner!

Greg's Chicken Wings!Along with the Buffalo Bills first win comes a greatly anticipated secondary win --- Greg gets his chicken wings!!!

That's right! Buffalo avoids going 0-5 (though Dave was dangerously close in his prediction!!) and Greg will be getting a bucket of medium wings from Duffs!

Also, the PUNT Foundation will be receiving $150 from this little wager. Dave and D. Mahlitz ponied up $50 each, saying the Bills would go 0-5. John said on the show that even though he took the side of at least one win, he would still make the donation. Great idea!

We created a page where BBR listeners can donate to Brian's foundation. You can even start your own fund raising page! If you'd like to make a donation, click this link:

http://www.active.com/donate/puntfoundation/buffalobillsreview

Thanks for playing along! Go Bills!

Drake's Winless Challenge

Bucket of Chicken WingsAs you have heard on the show, Dave has made the outrageous claim that the Bills will start the season 0-5. Well, I challenged him to put his money where his mouth is. I bet him an order of chicken wings that the Bills would win at least ONE of their first five games. Later we upped it to a bucket. Bills win once in five games, Dave buys me chicken wings. They go 0-5, I buy Dave chicken wings.

Well, this week listener Joab called Dave out on the hotline, saying he'd like to get in on that 0-5 bet somehow, and Dave came up with a brilliant way to have some fun, and support a good cause, too!

Here's what we're going to do:
  • First, figure out if you can afford to wager a $50 donation to the P.U.N.T. Foundation. Please only play if you are willing to actually donate.
  • Then, decide which way you think the Bills record will go. 0-5, or anything else.
  • Click on the appropriate link below to email in your selection. If you choose 0-5, you are siding with Dave, If you think the Bills win at least one game, you are siding with Greg.

  • GET YOUR SELECTION IN BY SUNDAY AT 12:59PM!
  • If you side with Dave and you win, Greg buys chicken wings for Dave, and you keep your $50. Those who side with Greg donate their $50 to the PUNT Foundation.
  • If you side with Dave and you LOSE, Dave buys Greg chicken wings, Dave also donates $50 to Brian Moorman's PUNT Foundation, and you donate your $50 to the PUNT Foundation.

Get it? If you have questions, just e-mail us.

This is a great way to have some fun with Drake's outrageous prediction, and to benefit a great cause, and some people who could really use the benefits the PUNT Foundation and Brian Moorman provide.

Good luck!

THE TAKERS

  • with GREG (Bills win at least one game)
    1. A. Critchell
    2. J. Dupra
    3. S. Heidmann
    4. J. Somerville
    5. A. Montes

  • with DAVE (Bills go 0-5 to start the season)
    1. D. Mahlitz

TOTAL GUARANTEED DONATION TO THE PUNT FOUNDATION: $100

Join the BBR Team, Help Kids

Brian Moorman's Punt FoundationBills punter, Brian Moorman, joined us on the Bills Review today (another special edition BBR, available here) and we learned that not only is his foundation doing great things for children who have cancer, and their families... we can help out pretty easily too!

Anyone is able to donate, or join the Kicking for Kids 2007 campaign where you pledge to donate any amount of money per kick downed inside the 20. Last year Brian had 33, so if you pledge $1 per kick, that's $33 at the end of the year. But another pretty cool feature is setting up your own PUNT Foundation fund raising page!

So, we have done that for the Buffalo Bills Review!

Click the little graphic at the top right of this entry, and head over there and donate, or join our fund raising team by clicking the "Join this team" link in the right-hand column. You can make your own page where family, friends, co-workers, anyone can donate to a good cause.

I have set a goal of $1000 to be raised by the collective BBR listeners. I'm sure we can do that. Let's blow that away!

For more information on the PUNT Foundation, visit Brian's site:
www.brianmoorman.org.

New BBR T-Shirts!

Pink BBR Shirts!Yes folks, they are finally here! You can order your very own Buffalo Bills Review T-shirts. Printed when you order in Geneseo, NY by LPTees. They do quality work for a decent price.

PURCHASE T-SHIRTS HERE

We have a few options for these t-shirts. You can purchase either the design with the larger full-color logo on the front (the samples we were sent are missing the white outline, but you will get the correct version), or you can select the smaller, 2-color logo on the pocket. The back is the same on both shirts. (Pictured on the Navy photo to the right.) The other option you then have is the color. You can choose pink (I believe it's Azalea, actually) or Navy Blue.

Shirts are also avilable in multiple sizes. Youth small, medium and large. Adult small, medium, large and extra large. (Bigger sizes are also available, please click on the "additional charges" button, and add one charge (it's just a dollar) per larger shirt ordered.)

Navy Blue BBR Shirts!Shipping is also an issue, with BBR listeners being distributed around the globe. We will include four options below. Two domestic (US) and two international rates. Please choose the correct one and add it to your cart. This is the best (easiest) way to do this with the PayPal shopping cart.

If you do not have PayPal, don't worry. PayPal allows you to process your orde using a credit or debit card. And it can accept all sorts of currencies. Another plus. It's the best way to make transactions online!

If you have any questions about the shirts, please do contact us. We'll answer best we can.

Thanks for helping us out with your purchase, and by wearing the shirt around town! Spread the word and let every Bills fan know about the show by Bills fans, for Bills fans!

Lend Your Support

As you know, the Buffalo Bills Review is not done by professional media, who are supported by major ad revenue and large corporate sponsors. We're just Bills fans, doing a Bills fan show. Glad to have you aboard.

In the past, we have offered you the opportunity to make a donation to the show, to help us cover our costs. Many thanks to those of you who have helped us out in that way. You can still do that, if you'd like. We have three buttons: montly donation, annual donation, and a one-time donation. Anything is certainly appreciated.

But we have a ton of new ways you can support the show, and none of them involve you giving up MORE money out of your pocket. :-)

CLICK THE ADS
There are many different services for which BBR is an affiliate. From the popular Netflix, to Amazon.com, to a quite relevant StubHub.com... you use these services, and BBR is paid a commission - on something you were already going to buy! Definite win-win.

The ads run down the right side of our pages. Scroll down (or up?) and check them out right now. Good stuff!

They are all very useful, good services. Who doesn't use Amazon?!! So if you'll remember to click through those ads as much as possible, you'll be supporting the Buffalo Bills Review when you do!

T-Shirts Coming Soon
Due to various internet and server outages and changes, I have not been able to put together the page for ordering BBR T-shirts, but they are coming! And they will be posted here! (Probably have their own page, too, I guess...) There are Navy shirts with a small BBR logo, and Pink shirts with the full-size BBR logo. Fun stuff! A fun way to support BBR not just with the T-shirt purchase, but by wearing it, and being a living, breathing, walking around advertisement!

Spread The Word
The other way you can support the show is to spread the word. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell your enemies. Well, at least friends and family. Send them the link. Put it in your e-mail signature! Put it on your website! (We've made it a little easier, maybe more fun, with our promote page with code for images that link back to BBR. More to come!)

Review Us!
iTunes offers you the chance to review our show... go there and leave a nice review. More review = more listeners = more fun. :-) You can also leave reviews for us at PodcastAlley.com (vote for the show right off of our home page). Any other spots? Let us know.

So many ways to help... thanks for listening to the show, and for helping us keep it going, and improve it along the way!

Go Bills!!!

Promote The Show!

In an effort to make it easier for you to help promote the Buffalo Bills Review, we have set up a page with little banners and BBR logos, along with HTML code you can copy and paste into your own blog, website, emails, forum signatures, etc. Visit our promote page and pick the right size image for your site!

Let us know if there are other ways you'd like to help promote, and we'll get them up there. I will be adding a graphic linked to our feed soon, so you can offer people a one-click way to subscribe to the show.

Thanks for helping spread the word!

New Way To Chat

Enter BBRGameDayChatHey folks!

This is just a quick notice regarding an update to the website.

If you participated in the BBRGameDay chats last season, you will want to make a note. If you did not, you missed out on some great fun! Bills fans around the world "together" via the internet in one chat room, talking about the Bills game as it happens! And, all have the connection of listening to/participating in the BBR! (In fact, one of the guys who was in the chat last year ended up being on the show one week!)

It was set up as an AIM chat room last year, but there were plenty of people who were confused by AOL's software. (Who isn't??) So, I found a neato AJAX-y chat client that I installed on our server here, and is up and running. I tested it out last night, seems to be great. Can use some tweaks to be sure, but that is how we'll go for upcoming Bills games (INCLUDING THE ONE THIS FRIDAY!!!!!!)

All you do is go to buffalobillsreview.com/chat and click on the button to bring up the pop up window that houses the chat room. Instructions (should you need them) are at the old link, buffalobillsreview.com/bbrgamedaychat.html.

This is a fun way to catch a Bills game together, so if you're so inclined... join us in the BBR Game Day Chat!

Your (NEW) Source for BBR News!

You'll notice a few new things around here today. First, I am now naming the shows. Will be easier to find old shows that way, I would think. So the title of your download will be a bit different. Then, we have changed the navigation, adding the PROMOTE page (linked above), and THIS PAGE... where you'll find any BBR News items.

Take a moment to explore... lots of good stuff around here!

Show(s) Coming Soon!

Hey folks! It's the off-season, and I hope you are enjoying watching our team take shape! So many changes over the past two years, and actually, I am a fan of most of them. We'll see what the other guys (and you!) think on the next show, which we will record next week some time. We'll discuss all the off-season moves and talk about the draft coming up, and what spots the Bills might be looking to fill. Also, the NFL schedule will be released today, so we'll talk about the Bills 2007 schedule, and some of the highlights of that.

Following the draft we'll do one more off-season show, wrapping up the draft and looking ahead to training camp! It's not that far away!

For now, though, the NHL playoffs begin tomorrow night and our Buffalo Sabres have a great chance to bring home the Stanley Cup this year!!! The good thing is, the Sabes could be playing through June... that only leaves a month until BILLS TRAINING CAMP BEGINS! That's not much down time at all!

Go Buffalo!

Coming Soon...

Hey folks
Just wanted to let you know that due to several factors this week, we'll be doing the show on Thursday night, posting it by Friday morning this week. That will make the "review" part sorta old news... (stay tuned to my BuffaloBills.com blog for my initial reaction to the game...) but it will make the preview part more fun! :-)

And, with more holidays coming up, we'll be altering the recording schedule for the rest of the season. Here's what we're planning...

Show 2.1.17 - Dec 22
Show 2.1.18 - Dec 29
Show 2.1.19 - Jan 5, 2007

We'll try to stick to that... but no promises. :-)

WHAT A WIN today though, eh???

Wow. Can't wait to break it down with ya.
