Though it felt a bit rusty, after a few weeks off, we couldn't help but get together and talk about what is front and center for most every Bills fan these days - The Toronto Initiative. The Bills claim it is all part of their master plan to regionalize the team in order to keep them in Western New York. Sports writers and paranoid Bills fans see it differently, fearing this is just a prelude to Canadian businessmen purchasing the team and moving them to Toronto after Wilson dies.

We BBR guys go over the available information, and add our two cents to the mix.

While it may have been music to Bills fans' ears that Steve Fairchild will be moving on at the end of the season, the fact remains that he still calls the plays for the Bills. And after an incredible start to the game, the offense became SO predictable that Dave was calling every play from his couch. Maybe every Bills fan was. And on the other side, the Giants ran on all but two plays of the second half. But their predictability was effective as they racked up 291 yards rushing! All en route to another Bills defeat.

It's so hard when a team that shouldn't even be in the picture really is in the picture, and then when they're in the picture, they really aren't in the picture. That pretty much sums up the Snow Bowl in Cleveland. It was a microcosm of the 2007 season, minus the injuries. The Bills were so close - they were still very much "in it" up to the last three seconds! - but so far, losing by a shutout in what amounted to a playoff game. Bills fans lament and mourn, but look forward with much hope to 2008. Things are definitely on the right track.

On the day where the NFL remembered Sean Taylor, the Bills had to play a football game against his former team. In their house. A tall task to be sure. Defense prevailed, scoring two points on a safety, and holding Washington to one touchdown, 80 yards on the ground, and only 16 total points. Rian "No Foot" Lindell went 5/5 on FG tries, including the game winner! (Was even 6 for 6, including the 51 yarder called back by a time-out!) No Foot for Pro Bowl!!!

The final bell has tolled for Jonathan Paul Losman. His career as a Buffalo Bill would seem to be at an end. With an abysmal performance against the Jaguars, Jauron has decided to go with Edwards - and there was MUCH rejoicing in the land of much snow.

Unfortunately, that is only minor consolation to a town that had gotten up a good deal of hope for a trip to the playoffs this season. Losing the Jacksonville put a VERY large damper on that.
